7 lbs. 19 inches

The alarm went off at 3:30am Tuesday morning.  We were scheduled for an induction at 5am, so that we could finally meet our little girl.  I was ready to not be pregnant and to finally hold this baby that had been kicking me like crazy.  Claire spent the night with Nanny and Papa so that Eric and I could head to the hospital without any worries.  She was so excited about getting to see her baby sister and had no clue how life was going to change.  The ride to the hospital was quiet.  I was scared yet excited about what was to happen.  Eric was calm as usual. I made sure he ate something before we left the house since he passed out when Claire was born. We made it up to Labor/Delivery and waited about 45 min. for our name to be called.  We got back to our room and I was shocked when they checked me and said I was already 4cm.  The day nurse(which happens to be one of our friends) came in not long after and gave me the option to get my epidural now or wait till after Dr. Miller broke my water.  Of course I was going to get the epidural.  I wasn't feeling any contractions, but I wasn't going to take any chances.  It was about 7am when I got the epidural.  Mom(Nanny) dropped Claire off at summer school and got to the hospital around 9:30.  Then Dad(Papa) got there shortly after.  I started feeling some pressure and when the nurse, Deanna, checked I was at 9cm.  This was probably about 10:45am.  So, she went ahead and called Dr. Miller.  The Dr. got there within 15 minutes and I was ready to push.  I really didn't feel that much pressure.  I remember really having a lot of pressure with Claire.  I pushed once and out came our sweet little Colleen Gail. She looked nothing like her sister, at least not what I remembered Claire looked like.  Colleen was so alert looking around at the world.  Nanny, Papa, LoLo, Papa, Aunt Pam, Mama Pat and Granny came in shortly after to meet the new little one.  I was ready for Claire to come meet her new baby sister, so Nanny and LoLo went to pick her up.  Having Claire meet Colleen was everything I had imagined.  Claire was so excited and couldn't wait to hold her.  Enjoy the massive amounts of pictures of our sweet Colleen.
